Tasting Room Cashier

Location: Temecula, CA

Ponte Family Estate Winery seeks energetic, enthusiastic and customer service focused candidates for a Cashier within our Tasting Room. The Cashier will provide information, sell tasting room tickets to our guests and check-in Wine Club Members in a prompt and courteous manner that will exceed their expectations while providing our guests with a wonderful Day in the Country experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Create a memorable experience for all guests who enter the property through a high standard of customer service.
  • Greet guests with a smile and respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Explain how the tasting process works and ring up guest transactions. Direct the guests to a tasting counter to begin their tastings.
  • Greet wine club members who are picking up their wine club package and assist them with the pick up process.
  • Stock wine and merchandise as requested by the Tasting Room Manager or Assistant Merchandising Manager while keeping our displays design attractive to the guests.
  • Be knowledgeable about merchandise and gourmet foods and be able to assist guests during their visit to the Tasting Room.
  • Act as a greeter, VIP hostess or wine club check-in when needed.
  • Manage high volume wine and merchandise transactions.
  • Build relationships with guests to maximize the sale of wine, merchandise and winery tours and experience.
  • Create opportunities to sell other events, services and experiences offered on the property.
  • Present guests with the exclusive benefits for Wine Club members and educate them with information about joining our Wine Club.

Experience and Skills:

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma)
  • Fluent in English

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Customer service focused with a desire to create a memorable guest experience.
  • Have an approachable and warm personable demeanor.
  • Ability to strike up a conversation with anyone.
  • Must be able to multi-task!
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the winery.
  • Excellent communication skills.


  • Hospitality/Food and Beverage industry background and experience.
  • Strong sales background desirable not required.

  • Ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time through entire shift.
  • Ability to work in high temperatures.
